In rural Charleston County on Highway 17, 30 miles north of Charleston, 60 miles south of Myrtle Beach.
1850 - Earliest known date of existence
1850 - Bought by Richard Tillia Morrison
1852 - House built by Richard Tillia Morrison
Original house decayed into ruins. 1852 new house was build by R. T. Morrison. This house was smashed by Hurrican Hugo. 1982 was moved to Doe Hall and restored.
1859 - Conveyed to David Doar
1950 - Sold out of the family
1982 - R. L. and Jackie Morrison bought it back.
Jeremy Creek
A coastal home on Jeremy Creek, in the historical seaside village of McClellanville, will be our refuge at night with its warm fireplaces and cozy ambiance. The Village Museum
In McClellanville visit the Village Museum Exhibits at The Village Inn Museum demonstrate a time line of history beginning with villages of the Seewee Indians and the settlement at Jamestown by the Huguenots, through the rice planting on the great Santee Plantations and the establishment of the village of McClellanville.
Displays also tell of the simple lifestyle of the postwar farmer, the rise of timber harvesting in the 20th century and the growth of the local seafood industry.
The museum will both educate visitors as well as entertain them. The Village Museum facilities include Interpretive Tours, Picnic Area, Museum Store, and Visitor Information.
